Food Accidents: BLT edition

It’s my day off. I want a BLT!

• So it’s no problem that I don’t have lettuce. I’ll use spinach.

• Aw man, no sliced tomatoes either. Stay cool, Miranda! Make a tasty concoction with your canned no salt tomato chunks. Add olive oil, sea salt, pepper, cayenne, oregano, chopped red onion and garlic, and about a teaspoon of honey mustard (b/c you like that on your BLTs anyway) and cook it for like 15 minutes on low to medium heat so it can cook down and be mad tasty on some crunchy toasted bread.

• Make bacon. EASY!

• Wait, no bread?! Like seriously kitchen, what do you have? Brown rice or pasta? Hmmm. Pasta it is. Chop that bacon up, shred some provolone and throw it in there!

So BLT, I mean, BST pasta salad. I think. Really I’m trying so hard not to go to the grocery store every five seconds; trying to use what I have. As upset as I am about not having a BLT, this was really good! I need more tasty kitchen accidents!

(best bet is to just throw your cooked pasta and tomatoes on fresh spinach so that it wilts slowly instead of being cooked, stringy spinach. But to each their own!)

You guys, I had a photo book made for the second time ever! It came out fantastic and I need to do this more often. Photos look way better when they’re not stuck on your computer or on Flickr. You realize they’re more like art when you can hold them. I want to fill my bookshelves with my books too. I’m going right next to Shel Silverstein!

As usual, portraits are not my forte. I just don’t have many people in my photostream. It’s especially difficult when people don’t want their photos taken. But here’s a security guard at an old job of mine. This was a photo in a first batch of film processed after I got my Mamiya camera.

This was an old housemate’s dog. I’m not much of a small dog girl but this lil’ guy was kind of fun. His name is actually Monster but he was really just a little baby.

It’s been about 8 months since Chyna’s been gone. I’ve concluded this is my favorite photo of her. It’s so blurry it seems kind of ghostly but I know every detail of that dog because she was mine. We took this path often because it was quiet and I could take her off her leash. But she’d usually look back with this, “Are you coming?” look. She never got too far away from me. Still hasn’t. Miss my cutie pie.

Because Walgreen scanners take forever to load, I just started putting photos together. It snowed in South Texas this year. Pretty neat.

My procrastination has ended & I finally went down to Walgreens to scan my photos I took with my Mamiya film camera. I didn’t scan them all as it takes forever and I should just buy a scanner of my own. But I’ll queue a few.
