takohako:

comic about moving to vancouver from seattle and getting to know a new place.  page 2 of 2.

Yep, I hear ya. It takes patience to peel some of these layers away from the city. Vancouver has an awkwardness and aloofness and… something… it’s hard to nail down. But I must say Takohako really gets it in this strip, and is also smart enough to know there’s more going on, and that it may take time.
Just remember, on some days that weirdness suddenly melts away, and it’s like you’re momentarily in one of the most amazing places ever. The city is young and very shy, and you have to coax it to come out of its shell sometimes.

Love this a lot. Reminds me of when I moved from Texas to Colorado. What a difference. It’s hard at first to adjust but once you get into the groove of a city, you start to realize how special your journey is and how special any place is. Not just your hometown.
I can’t wait to move out of state again. It’s incredible. I haven’t decided where to go next but hopefully I’ll log my adventure better than last time. Maybe make something awesome like this.
